upgrade existing STB

Iam thinking its time to upgrade my STB. I have a SonicView 360 premier. I would like to get HD programming and I know nothing about it except I need a new STB. Do I need a new LNBF also or will the one I have work?

This next question may be for another post but can I get C-band channels using a C/ku LNBF and a winegard 76 cm dish?

Hi SatHat, your existing LNB will work fine as long as it's a linear LNB.. The 76cm dish will be good for KU only..C-band requires a larger dish of at least 6ft. Though the bulk of regular HD channels are on the C-BAND side there are plenty of HD channels on KU side and worth the upgrade IMO..Not so many regular feeds, but HD wildfeeds feeds on the KU side are numerous, especially HD sports feeds.

If you have a motorized 76cm and HD Box that would be a nice start.. Some inexpensive HD boxes are the Openbox and Manhattan..A little more cost to the wallet would be the Azbox line.

Make sure you buy from a reputable dealer so you don't get stuck with a clone and have a warranty. Hypermegasat.com is a known respected dealer in the community.
