Using an sg2100 with a zinwell mutiswitch.

Hello all,

I want to setup a Ku motorized dish , I have a an sg2100 motor, and a X2 twin lnb and a Zinwell multiswitch. I thought I would hook up the twin lnbs to a diseqc switch at the dish, then a jumper to the lnb side of the motor, I then ran a single coax from the motor side of sg2100 to the multiswitch. I can not control the movement of the motor. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you

Here is my diagram
The main cable coming from the receiver ---go to Motor/receiver input/
Motor/LNB input/ -----------go to Diseq/receiver input/
Diseq/1234 input /--------- go to LNB on the dish

For best results, Nothing should be installed between the receiver and the motor except the coax feedline. Wire as: Receiver--->Motor--->Switch(es)--->LNB(s).

Thanks guys, the weather's bad, cant play around with it in the rain. Although it works fine when its just one receiver. I wanted to set it up similar to my orthomode cband setup, I have a dsr922 which moves the dish, two lnbs ran thru a multiswitch for multiple receivers.

Again, How do you know the switch is the problem and not the lnb? How many receivers are you trying to feed? Only one receiver can control the ku motor. What kind of ku lnb do you have?

I am using an x2 twin lnb when I connect it to the one reciever it works fine. I only want to use 1 receiver to control the motor. I want to be able to view selected transponder on three receivers, thats why the multiswitch, which works fine using my orthomode setup, for all the receivers.

I do not have any experience with the X2 lnbs.
Some multi-port lnbs do not do a good job of separating the H and V voltages from different receivers. I suggest eliminating the multiswitch as a test. Run two receivers to the lnb and see if they work correctly. Be sure to switch between H and V transponders on each receiver to see what effect it has on the other receiver.
