Wednesday May 30th

Good morning Shepp and everyone else. Time to start doing some serious damage assessment from the T-Storms. Looks very much like I have lost my computer, the 52" 3D TV, the V-Box and the Anaconda. That is what I have as of last night. I believe the first order of the day is about a 1/2 dozen beer and then I will start drinking. :brew: Have a great Hump Day, folks

Good morning to all.. Damn EC, almost the same thing happened to me in March..

Well, the dealer is coming out to pick up the TV, either this afternoon or, if they don't have time, tomorrow. We'll see where I go from there. Luckily I still have the old 52" in the basement and I have the S-9, although when I connected the S-9, last night, all I could get was 35% signal strength and 10% (= 0) quality. Just wondering maybe my BUD didn't get hit, as well, although there is no sign of any damage to the BUD of LNBF.

Good morning Shepp, EC, Viper and all Legit peeps, have a great Wednesday. Damn EC, that sounds real bad- all my stuff is connected to the top of the line power surge protectors, never know what can happen in an electrical storm. If you need any equipment, including a receiver please do not hesitate to ask my friend as I have plenty to go around.

There was no sign of damage with my equipment either, apart from it would not work..lol

But my C-band LNB was toast, the KU was ok, but the switch was zapped, so you might check on replacing the switch..probably the signal problem there.

The frustrating part is that when I bought the TV, they suggested a particular surge protector power bar so that this type of thing would not happen. When I told them what it is doing they said they would come out to get it, and there were no questions asked. Hopefully this get resolved well. May try to see if I can get something going later, on the other tv, with the Openbox but I need to try to figure out why I am only getting 30% strength. Unfortunately, if the BUD has moved, in any way shape or form, I won't have any luck because with the V-Box fried, I will need to get something to move it. May take a drive to Ille Perot (sp) tomorrow or Friday

No switch in my setup. I have a BSC 621LNBF(compliments of Costa) and that runs directly to the V-Box. I may pick up another LNBF, just to be safe when I get another positioner.

Just so happens that I have a couple of lnbf and ku lnb in my garage, no extra positioners though but an extra openbox s9 and a 24" actuator.

I have an extra 24"actuator and my Openbox was not plugged in at the time so it should be ok. Just need to able to find the name of the place in Ille Perrot and see where he stands with a positioner. On the upside, they have already picked up the TV so at least I know that when they told me they provide quick service, they were right. Hopefully the repair will be as quick but I guess that will depend on what is wrong.

Make sure you call your insurance company so you will get compensated for everything that was damaged.

I know Roger at rpssat is in Vaudreuil and may have a vbox in stock, the place in IlePerot is on Grand blvd. but I don not remember the name of the place.

That's the guy I was trying to remember, Costa. I can go online now, or whenever my wife lets me play with her laptop and check it out. Thanks

I'll have to wait for the estimate for the TV but as I have the extended warranty, they told me it won't likely cost me anything. Replacing the other items will likely run under a $1000 and that is what I am carrying as my deductable so I will still end up footing the entire bill and if I make a claim, some jerk will likely raise my premiums. :bigahh:
