I think it is pretty funny, and my favorite part is this:


"rumors abound that there is still some obscure stations that can be picked up with those “big, ugly dishes.” Only the most ardent hobbyist would ever bother with C-Band frequencies and equipment."
 
The author doesn't see the future of sat providers:
no matter how good are their terrestrial equipment, they are reluctant to upgrade the equipment in the sky: $$$$ !
Their business is being upstaged by the streaming technology, where you do not need their expensive equipment to watch tv.
The main advantage is that you can stream no matter the meteo conditions from outside.
Him being an advertiser of his installation company for the big 3 providers, makes sense !!!
And his not aware that there are not all "some obscure stations".
 
The author is more interested in selling DirecTV subscription than what is offered on a c band dish. So of course there would be nothing ob c band to watch. He would not want c band competing with his subscription services.
