Just thought i'd ask in order to get a bit more of an understanding of what i'm letting myself in for next year. If all goes to plan i should be living in Nova Scotia in early 2015.
My biggest dish currently in use at my home in the UK is a 1m Gilbertini which i see 70e to 45w on the arc. We have stupid planning regulations in the UK meaning that you cannot have anything bigger than a 1m dish without planning permission, which is very rarely given. I also have a 1.2m Fibo in storage which is coming with me to Canada.
All of the Ku band sats on that arc are all linear polarity (H & V) and are usually fairly easy to get apart form 7w, 4w and 11w which need dishes 1.5m+ to get a steady signal. C band in the UK is pretty much a no brainer due to the restrictions mentioned previously. The only circular polarity birds we have had in European skys were the old Canadian Nimiq1@ 44.5e and the old US DirecTV 1R @ 56e that were moved there just to keep the orbital slots open for one of the Russian operators
What are the maximum limits on the arc in Nova Scotia? I am assuming that i will also require some circular KU lnbs.
