I have a few of these nice little tablets. Not a bad device but they do have some quirks. A major one is when the battery goes dead you cannot conventionally charge it. What happens is when the battery falls below a certain threshold it cannot charge because the processor controls the charging rate. So when the battery is dead the processor will not run to control the charging. However, when you plug in a charger you will get a red led to come on for a moment and then go out. For the few seconds that this happens it is actually charging the device. What needs to be done in order to recover the tablet is called stack charging. Basically you connect the charger (preferably a rapid charger) until the red led goes out. You then disconnect it and reconnect it so the red led cycles again. Do this as many times as it takes to jump start the battery so the processor will come on. It should take a few dozen times. Once that is done you will then get a picture of the battery on the display. From this point it will charge how it was designed but will take a couple hours of charging to return to normal.
If you have a different sequence of leds flashing when you connect the charger you may have a fault code. Below is a list of known codes. These tablets are very inexpensive right now and many of them just won't boot because the battery needs to be brought back. Others may have hardware or firmware issues.
Number Beeps Reason
1 1 Not a bootrom error: the OS is resetting during init!
3 11 No OS Loaded (*Tip: reload M_F_I)
5 101 Bad OS CRC
7 111 Missing OS CRC
11 1011 Missing OS Trailer
13 1101 OS Not Signed
15 1111 OS Signature Invalid (*Tip: verify failure by loading software and let sit with no battery for approximately one hour, if it boots up itÂ’s fine; if it comes back with another BootRom Error, try replacing the flash)
21 10101 Unknown Flash
23 10111 Flash Initialization Problem (*Tip: try replacing flash)
