Octagon SF8008 Supreme

Had Tnap 6 in slot 18 and tried to flash on-line 01-24-25 to same slot, but was unable due to selections of slots 1 to 4 only. I had to download 01-24-2025 manually and copy the image to downloaded images folder.

Then rebooted to openSpa and did an on-line flash of 01-24-2025 from the downloaded images folder to slot 18.

Rebooted to slot 18 and Tnap did an auto restore without any problems. Did a reboot again and it seems to be slightly faster in the boot process. Also, the 87 ku Cnn mux is still slow. The zapping from 87 ku to atsc channels is slow too. Once the atsc channel tunes and displays, zapping speed to other atsc channels is normal.

Haven't really noticed anything else out of the ordinary to report.

Installed TNAP-6-sf8008-20250201_multiboot.

Can't flash on online to slot 18. Must manually download zip file and transfer to downloaded images. Must reboot to another image and flash online from downloaded images folder to slot 18. After flash, reboot to Tnap 20250201.

Auto restore works fine.

Cnn 87 ku mux very, very slow zapping. Atsc zapping hasn't changed.
Plugins, You tube - Pluto work. WebCamViewer crashes, see attached crash log.

View attachment enigma2_crash.zip

Menu> Standby/restart> Restart enigma seems to be very fast.
Menu> Standby/restart> Restart seems to be the same as before.
Menu> Standby/restart> Restart Multiboot image selector> exits to reboot quickly, yet other times takes a loooong time to exit and start reboot to new image.

Haven't checked blindscan yet....

Upgraded to Tnap 02-09-2025 and upgrade went smoothly.

The Cnn ku mux zapping is lethargic as well as when selecting a station with the "previous" buttton.

After reboot installed CPU usage monitor without any problems.

Info screen 3.webp

Blind scanning is as good as before the upgrade.

Seems pretty smooth operation.

Update to 0212, then see post #155 in this thread: https://legitfta.com/forum/showthread.php?28359-TNAP-6-Image-Discussion/page16
You will have to do some debugging because I cannot see the problem. Typing htop in telnet will also show you what files are eating your receiver. You need to be on the 0212 Image....

Your webcam crash points to a possible bug in the plugin or a storage issue on your part. This will be looked at later....

The cpu monitor plugin is working.... the cpu log is showing:

The htop command is showing:

You are showing roughly 3.5 minutes of logging without any memory or cpu issues. Try logging for some hours or at least 20-30 minutes. Refresh rate is 6 times per minute.

If your Last update in About shows 2025-02-12 And you downloaded the image and flashed it, Then you have htop. It's possible if you just updated from feeds (Software update), then htop might not be available. The htop feature is built into the image....

if you did all the things correctly that are mentioned above (flashed image, not online update), then most likely, your extended image arrangement has issues. (See https://legitfta.com/forum/showthread.php?28359-TNAP-6-Image-Discussion/page15 post #142.)

Info shows 02-12-2025... had to install htop manually.

Here's a pix....

Just in case I'll do an on line flash and then run the cpu monitor for a few hours later and repost.

I guess the easiest way to remove the sluggishness in zapping ku, c band, atsc and iptv is to flash online without restoring anything. Transferring the settings, lamedb etc is cumbersome, but still the easiest workaround.

The only problem I have now is the remvoal of plugins. I have duplicates showing in the uninstall plugins display.

Uninstall plugins.webp

/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions does not show duplicates of plugins.

I tried to uninstall Plutotv, but got an error message, see below.

Plutotv uninstall error.webp

Had to go to /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions and delete Pluto. Rebooted, Pluto was gone from plugins.
But, it still displays twice in the uninstall plugins extension display.

4097_0_1_1_0_0_0_0_0_0_20250213214417.webp

Other than that, the sluggishness is gone.

Online flash must have picked up a hitch hiker some where along the flash process. lol

Will redo again tomorrow and see what happens......

What practical purpose does the web cam viewer have? Seems most of the selections that it has no longer work, and it seems a key is needed. Is this a Plugin that needs to go into the garbage?

I reflashed ONLINE (02-12-2025) three different times without using auto restore. Each flash shows dups in the remove plugin display as posted in #190. Can't figure out why it's picking up the dups.

ONLINE flashed 02-16-2025 and dups show in the remove plugin display. When accessing the plugins display, now getting a "some plugins are not available" error.

plugins display error.webp

Going to download the 02-16-2025 zip file and transfer to receiver and see what happens.

Finally got around to getting rid of the dups in the remove plugins display as shown in post #190. I had to reformat the 64gb msd card and start from scratch.

After the reformat I tried another script file that partitions the msd card from 19 to 25 slots. I rebooted to ATV in slot one and did an online flash to slot 21 using a prior backupsuite file of Tnap 6 02-12-2025. Rebooted to slot 21 and Tnap 6 works fine with no sluggishness or dups in the plugins uninstall display. As does the blind scan, signal finder, atsc, iptv, gui, etc.

Rebooted to ATV in slot one and did a online flash of the same backupsuite file to slot 2 and rebooted. Again, everything working fine with the Tnap 6 02-12-2025 image.

Rebooted to ATV in slot one and did a online flash of a backed up file of SPA to slot 12. Rebooted and everything working fine with SPA.

Did an online flash from slot 12 using SPA and a previous backupsuite of TNAP 5 to slot 16. Rebooted and everything working fine.

Multiboot.webp

At this point I don't know what caused the random dups when I previously online flashed TNAP 6 without auto restore. I even tried the openpli-9.1-release-sf8008-20250123_multiboot and openpli-9.1-release-sf8008-20250212_multiboot online flash and both produced dups.

But, so far ATV and SPA seem to play nice when using slots higher than 4. Would be nice if PLI would add the capability to do online flashes from a numerically higher slot too.

Multiboot has always had the risk of file sharing from one slot to the next. The earlier generations of multiboot were more problematic as compared to receiver's that have 4-8 slots for multiboot. But anyway you look at it, multiboot is prong to file sharing between the slots and the odds of file sharing will increase as the slot numbers increase.

Installed Tnap 6 03-01-2025 and displayed fine. Changed skin to CinoGriPLI and copied necessary bouquets, xml and settings files. Currently zapping as fast as Tnap 5.1.

The iptv-org playlists and Freearhey 3.1 along with Worldcam 4.6 plugins work fine in Tnap 6 of 03-01-2025; as does the other pre-installed plugins.

Still playing with multislots to see what hiccups they can create. Made some notes to myself for future reference, just in case.

Tnap 6 is working very well for me. Thanks EB.
