Orby TV

h.265 services will not log as valid video services with a legacy Mpeg2 QPSK STB. The audio track is MPEG2, so it will log as a radio service. The Orby receivers are not a clones and are manufactured by a Korean company Kaon Media. Kaon manufactures STBs for several subscription service providers.

You do not need an Orby dish or LNBF. Many of us have used our own dishes and standard type LO 10750 LNBF. An 80cm dish and standard type LNBF will be fine.

You must purchase an Orby STB and it does not require activation by an installer. Simply aim, peak the signal, call to activate, then sit back and enjoy!

they only give you 30 days to activate after purchasing the receiver.
so I only have about 10 days left to decide.
I hate automatic credit card paying if I decide to get rid of it after 1 month.

Used an old primestar lnb into a dtv 3x8 switch
got the $40 plan
had to call the 1-877 number to turn autopay off,I couldn't do it on the website.

Orby TV is a pay as you go monthly prepaid subscription. You may activate or deactivate the receiver at any time. What do you mean that you must activate within 30 days after purchasing the receiver?

that was part of the agreement you have to agree to when you sign up.
Probably to keep people from stocking up on receivers like they did with the old favorite provider receivers.
Initially autopay is turned on,once they get their money and you have a account screen you can turn it off.
Reception was good during a monsoon rain,so it was worth using a 1 meter dish instead of theirs.
dtv 3x8 switch lets you insert the ota signal which is pitiful where I live.( 5 ota channels with outside antenna)

Self installed non DVR with DTV slimline and standard lnb.
Wanted to be able to use my hauppauge antenna input on the same cable.I made a diagram how I made it work.
Couldn't run a cable from the indoor diplexer straight into Orby tv box and get all the over the air channels.

80cm motorized dish diseqc switch port 1
that size dish gives 80% quality on a sunny day.
orby detects the signal even tho not normally used with a switch.
My ota antenna is in the attic going straight to the tv.
I could disconnect the orby receiver and use the antenna for my old fta receiver.
I had orby service for 1 month
may treat myself during the winter with the $50 package.

scam.
they were going to charge me $50 for 4 days then the month of november for free.
It should have been now to nov 28 for $50 then december for free.
The goal was 2 months of programming.
I had it turned off again, now I have to get my money back.

Call them...

They adjusted my bill and gave me a credit when I had downgraded the package and the autopay had already been scheduled. Also, received a free month of service as a courtesy, without even asking!

the woman was talking nonsense.
she said you have to pay for 2 months in advance, reminded me of the other favorite providers.
It originally was pay as you go.

Yes you think OrbyTv would at least say what's going on. Maybe they will soon. If they could not make it work just say so. If it is shutting down would be nice for a firmware to make the receiver usable for FTA but I'm sure that wont happen. I was looking on youtube at their commercials and found another product that went out business in 2017 called Airbox DVR it worked with only the over the air antenna in only a few cities where you could subscribe to some premium services. Looking at the on screen graphics of the Airbox DVR it looks almost the same as the OrbyTv graphics. The same media company produced the commercials(SINCBOX) Makes me wonder if Airbox and orby weren't the same group.

The funniest thing I have seen is the Sat Nerd video about Orby that is over 1 hour 20 minutes long. This guy is in Canada, Does Not have Orby, Does Not work for Orby, and Does Not know what he is talking about.

I watched some of it over the weekend at least the satellite nerd says he likes Orbytv and would like to subscribe but how about That Antennaman video. Did you see that? He's is bringing orbytv down with his speculation. If Orbytv is in financial trouble That guy isn't helping the matter.

The Antenna Man is another one that does not know what he is talking about.
To Date It Seems No One has lost any money or lost service from an existing account with Orby..

Funny to watch people make fools of themselves.
