random redirects

I use a program in Windows called "HostsMan" about every 6 months to import multiple lists, sort, delete comments, and edit. I then boot into my linux distro and copy into my /etc/hosts file, keeping the default bit at the top. Localhost is 127.0.0.1. If I need to update, since I'm always editing the file in linux to add sites, I copy to my Windows hosts file and run HostMan to update the lists, then copy back to linux.

Anyone still interested in a all in one suite that gets the job done, Newegg is currently offering Kaspersky. Mail in rebate gets you a free copy of KIS.

Every time I click on The X2 Premium HD-Discussion link my browser gets hijacked. Wondering if anyone else is having this problem. Thanks. Running Linux Mint 15, Firefox 22.0.

how can the website be fixed so it doesn't happen anymore?

It's not an easy one Rob,, I have tried what I know..I don't get them with spybot..I think they come from a plugin that's installed here and I have disabled and enabled all,, this normally takes care of this issue..Once I can catch up with IceMan he is the total VB expert to solve it..

Are people still getting hit with redirects? If so, using what pages or links? I have stopped experiencing the problem but didn't do anything to stop it, that I am aware of.

Same here EC..I don't see them...it's a possibility that it's on the end user..Not saying it's not happening,,but...

I had it happen quite a while ago and only once. Don't know if this has any bearing but I am using FF and running Ubuntu and not Windows. Again, I don't know if that would have any bearing on the redirects.

I have never stopped getting them,,,mostly when i click on random chatter,,i crash from redirects,,,i am on this cell,,,everything i have tryed dont work,,,when i get a computer i can stop it,,,when it does it i just wait and try again

To make it easier for Iceman to spot the problem, maybe we could post the name of the thread just before the redirect occurs. I stopped getting the redirects because the script or image is being blocked by Kaspersky. Attached is the info about which script or image that it is blocking. For me, in the past it's always been the same script or image blocked, no matter which thread I have selected.

I find it happening mostly when I post feeds. There are a number of threads that have been "munched" and are missing part of the post. I am assuming the two issues are related.

My comodo gave me a warning last night while in the feed discussions. It backed me out of it and back to the feed I was posting. Today in the Ku radio feed section I noticed on the bottom of the screen where you can see what page is loading, that moekatchma website or whatever it is called did some sort of a redirect. It has been the same site for a few months now. when I see the link again I will post it once I figure out the spelling.

Maybe it is in the history of your browser.
These were gone for me for some time, thought you had it fixed, but as of last week started up again about every third visit.

Well, here's a first, for me. Went to Random Chatter, this morning, clicked on new thread and was redirected to ING Direct, went back to the forums page, tried again and was redirected to "moeaelochka.com". Finally got to post on the third try. At least now I know that all you guys weren't just consuming alcohol without me :brew:

I blocked the entire Russian Federation IP range..let's see how this works.
