Good Thursday morning to everyone here at LegitFTA. Looks like a cool damp day here with rain and a whopping high of only 21C or 70F. Going to try to get some work done outside so might end up either dodging rain drops or getting wet. Enjoy and have a great day folks.
 
Good afternoon EC and all Legit peeps....got a speeding ticket in the mail from photo radar in Quebec on my way home from work...damn bastards.
 
I travel the same way back every day and never once have been stopped for speeding..I almost feel violated. I'll make sure to keep the limit there from here on in.

In my neck of the woods I use the Escort 9500ix and "Mona" announces when approaching cameras or fixed known radar locations. But lately, the have been deactivating cameras due to public demand upon their reps.

Violated... yeah that feeling really reminds me of Florida where I was nailed by Vascar aircraft just outside of Tallahassee on the interstate 10. After getting on the road again, I drove by the "wolf" patrol of ten FHP vehicles parked on the side of the road waiting for an order to pounce. Since it was out of state it didn't hurt my license too bad, just my wallet and insurance premiums.

I was pondering a Radar detector since they are legal here in AB..illegal in Ontario..I seen the Escort 9500ix on my local Kijiji for 150 a week ago but gone now.
How does it perform? just in case a good deal pops up again.
 
Excellent.... it's paid for it self five fold. For the fixed locations, the database has to be up to date. I haven't updated mine in a while and I still feel secure.

In certain states they are illegal here too. Years ago, I drove from NYC to Mia and had a windshield mounted unit under the rear view mirror. I had stopped for gas and a guy came up to be and asked if he could follow me since he noticed I had a detector in my car.. I said ok (didn't know what the heck he had in mind), but I made sure I lost him once I was back on the highway. This was while driving in Virginia. Turns out that Va., has very stringent speeding laws with hefty fines and detectors are illegal with on the spot confiscation.

Never dawned on me that the guy just wanted to keep up speed wise. lol.
 
There was a customer at work who had a Jaguar xkr and he had the sensors setup above the license plate. I don't remember what brand he said it was. It was setup so you couldn't tell anything was there or inside the car.
