Well, took the firmware update and 10 minutes later it bricked!

Had taken the August firmware a few days after I received my unit....installed it from the USB...no problem.
Saw that there was a firmware update for September....did the same, USB upgrade....as expected, everything was wiped clean....went into wi-fi, connected to home network, entered the keys, acquired IP...still good....pressed IPTV button, downloaded 351 channels...still good...selected one, wheel starts to spin, then blue wallpaper and no icons....waited a few minutes, powered off, powered on, like I do whenever unit freezes up....this time, no signal, just the "X" on the front lights up, nothing else....she's a brick....

Recovery possible?

So sad to hear you bricked your unit. First, I don't own a Premium IV, so I didn't have the chance to test the September release posted by Gary and clear everything up before he made the post. I do ask X2 for the release notes and haven't heard from them since it released. I do own a Premium III and did test the September release for it. I also ask X2 for any release notes and didnt received any feedback. So what was changed/ improved in the September released is unknown. I will put on hold Gary's Premium IV September release until I hear from others that try it. In the meantime get yourself a RS232 Null Cable and follow all instructions here, everything you need should be in there :

For safety purposes use the August Firmware instead:

OK, we will keep the file in hold till someone test it for us. Thats what I usually do before posting a new one, Thanks

No answer from X2 yet

Congrats on your new Premium IV, however you can rollback your Mini using and older file.
