TNAP-5 Image Discussion

Last question for this year: Will moded AVL6261 T2MI driver work on osmio mini4k too ?

Do the following if you want it to work:
(1) Do an online update (Main menu--->Setup---> Software update)
(2) Go to Plugins and select Download Plugins (Main menu--->Plugins, then press green remote button)
(3) Navigate to extra plugins and pres the OK button on the remote to enter. Select and install enigma2-plugin-extra-t2mi-module-tnap-mod_5.15.0

Do the Exact same thing::

Your test image has extended frequencies that we cannot use. These extended frequencies mess up the Ku blindscan. Follow the instructions above for best results.

I think the version i tried was already with the plugin avl6261 T2mi 700mhz europe
because I didn't load any plugin to get all my positive results

Updated. This might explain the slow blind scans yesterday with the test image. Their results were accurate but slow. After updating just now, I blind scanned 87W Ku and it found every single transponder in just 3:43.

The Positioner Setup with 2 decimal places plus the non-locked SNR readout make the Edision a DX-hunter's delight now.

After today's update, tnap5-mod worked ok. turned the box off for few hours, and now i couldn't get a signal !!!
after i booted on regular tnap5 slot and booted back to tnap5-mod slot, it got signal !!!
now i scanned 121w-cband, but it did not find any active tps, despite the fact that 3 tps are showing signals (see pics from texas lottery ch):

What is the information for the 3 transponders that have a signal and show channels? My MIO gets nothing on a blindscan of 121w. My Octagon SF8008 found One empty data transponder and nothing else. Which one of your receivers blindscans these transponders and channels successfully?

osmio4k+ stb, with tnap5, finds:
121w-1.webp121w-2.webp121w-3.webp

same stb, with tnap5-mod finds same tps, but does not lock on "MIS" tps:

121w-3.webp121w-4.webp121w-5.webp

the ch on tp 4151H is a feed, broadcasting at certain hours only.

I ran into another issue with TNAP5. I have the Hauppauge 955Q driver installed but it won't show the scanned in TV stations. Images attached.

here is the T2MI search result in blindscan with the plugin "avl6261-t2mi-700mhz-europe (5.15.0)".
everything works perfectly ( satellite 40° East)

Example of a frequency too low to be locked.
At position 28.2 to the east of the UK beam, as expected, I'm no longer receiving it.
A measurement with the TBS 6983 card indicates that it is more than 3 dB short of being visible.
The MIO4K with the Ocean04 modification placed in the TNAP 5 image shows a dB value without frequency locking.

I have regular tnap in slot 1, and tnap-mod in slot 3.
regular tnap in slot 1 was updated online, and since then it shows develop (?) in info screen.
also, shows a signal on any dead transponder (?):

tnap-mod does not shows any signal on a dead transponder:

Must be something in the online updates because I haven't updated TNAP5 online in a while. Shows last update 2023 10-10 on the about screen and the signal finder is working normal here.

This signal thingy should not be a big deal. Maybe some sort of explanation will help.

The AVL6261 driver was altered to show db signal below lock, Parts of enigma2 were also altered to show signal below lock.

What is happening to lme is simple: The previous signal is not being cleared by enigma2. This is happening because of the changes made to show signal below lock. A little bit of patience and this signal issue should be fixed.

Tnap 5 currently has 4 different modules, drivers, or whatever else you want to call them for the avl6261 tuner or demodulator. Three of these drivers have T2MI enabled, and "play" well together. The problem is the Non-T2MI driver is constructed a bit different than the other three and does not appreciate the modifications that were made to allow signal below lock.

Modifications have been made that apparently will allow all 4 of these drivers to exist and not interfere with each other. A separate entry had to be added in the enigma2 coding for the non-T2MI driver so it will display signal correctly. Setting up the T2MI driver to show signal under lock will take a bit more effort from the user in order to see signal below lock. I will see if this solution for the signal being shown on a dead transponder can be added to an online update this weekend along with a short explanation of what changed and where.
