TNAP-7 Image Discussion

It appears that the original avl6261.ko (TNAP 6.x 68068b) is more suitable than the new one (TNAP 7 68668b) for transponders with low SR

Wireguard vpn 16.2 (python 3.14)

The same error occurred again with the Wireguard VPN plugin from a few months ago:
The plugin checks the kernel module (it does this every time the plugin is started, whereas with other distributions, the check is only performed the first time) and opens correctly, but when selecting any server from the list, an error appears:
"The Wireguard kernel module was not loaded! Verify that Wireguard is installed in your image. Via telnet: opkg install wireguard-tools".
This problem was fixed some time ago but has now returned, perhaps following the latest Python update for the latest release on April 20th.

In fact, it was working fine until a week ago.
Now it boots normally but won't connect to the listed servers.
I tried installing the tools, but it doesn't install anything.

The 16.2 plugin worked perfectly until the TNAP release on April 20th, there's no point in asking Madhouse.
When I first launched the plugin and checked the kernel module, I noticed an error in the tools installation, but I didn't have time to read it carefully because the check screen then disappeared.
I believe that's the reason for the malfunction.

The problem may be the nor python upgrade om 3.14.3 to 3.14.4
But even that does not make sense with the error you show. What VPN do you use? Maybe something could be built for it?

I've been using NordVPN for years without any issues with any distribution.
A few minutes ago, I tried a full backup of the April 17th release.
Even with that release, Wireguard doesn't connect to the servers and responds with that error.
The April 17th release, if I remember correctly, included Python 3.14.3.
So the error isn't due to the upgrade from Python 3.14.3 to 3.14.4.
I'll start by saying that I've already tried wireguard with distributions that use Python 3.14.4 (for example OATV), and it doesn't present any problems.
I also tried deleting the slot and doing a clean flash, but Wireguard still responds with the same error as soon as I select a server from the list.
I'd like to try your latest release with Python 3.13.
Could you send me the download link?

PS:
To install WireguardVPN, I use the command "wget "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/m4dhouse/Wireguard-Vpn/python3/WireGuard.py" -O - | python3".

If I try to install the plugin with the ipk file, the installation fails.

With other distributions, however, I can also install the plugin via ipk.

Done. I just finished testing the build from 10 days ago, the one from April 18th, pulled from the feeds, Python 3.14.3, same problem with Wireguard.
I already tried a full backup of the April 17th build, same problem.
Maybe all these builds have Python 3.14.
Can you let me try your latest build with Python 3.13? Because I remember that until a few weeks ago the plugin worked great.
Without trying a build with Python 3.13, I don't think we'll get to the bottom of this. I'm wrapping up the tests for today; I have to go out.
Talk to you soon, thanks, bye!

Some reason my M.2 SSD in the Octagon sf8008 got erased after flashing 04-10.
edit
I guess after the settings restore something got corrupted so was able to fix by initializing the storage.
Luckily had backed up a lot to my laptop.
We find that there is an automatic fstrim that was set by default for this image along with most OE alliance images. TNAP 7 Is the only image currently capable of trimming a M.2 drive. While I doubt the fstrim wiped the drive (apologies if it did), it would be a good idea to eliminate the cron job that you do not know about! Or leave it if you want it to run.

How to delete unwanted cron jobs Using terminal:
List crons:
crontab -l

Remove a specific entry (opens vi editor):
crontab -e
Navigate to the line, press dd to delete it, then Esc → :wq to save.

Remove ALL cron jobs for root (nuclear option — use with care):
crontab -r

There are also instructions available in the TNAP Help plugin.

fstrim thread here:

The automatic install of cron has been eliminated from TNAP 7 images. We do not want things like fstrim running that the user does not know about!

Today's image works with wireguard. Let me know if there are additional problems.

Yes, thank you, I can now connect to the servers.
Is there anything I can do to prevent this screen from appearing every time I launch Wireguard?
With other distributions, the kernel module check is performed only once, when the plugin is first launched; after that, the check is not performed again, even after restarting the receiver.
Thanks again! Bye!
