No Promises Being Made!
It looks like a limited amount of epg will be available in TNAP images soon. FTA EPG in North America has always been problematic and for the most part, simply does not exist. Then when we did get EPG, it populated to other channels causing a mess. Terrestrial ATSC, 117w ku, and 67w ku ALL populate epg. Unfortunately, there is little we can view on these channels due to either encryption (67w), or unable to understand the content(117w). ATSC epg does work for the stations that have it in the stream.
So the first step for North American epg is straightening the mess in getting the epg to stay on the channels it belongs to. That is solved here:
EPG Contamination Fix
The second step for North American epg is finding an opensource for the epg which begins here:
GitHub - jef/zap2xml:
Automate TV guides to XMLTV
The third step for North American epg is building and modifying a grabber for the epg, And this is where having a bona-fide-paid-for AI assistant or two comes in handy, but not 100 percent necessary either for a determined individual that can read.
The fourth step for North American epg is assigning the grabbed epg to their proper channels. It is great to have epg and it looks impressive in a screenshot, but it is useless if it does not apply to the channel programs.
The filth step for North American epg is automation. Again, this is where having a bona-fide-paid-for AI assistant or two comes in handy, but not 100 percent necessary either for a determined individual that can read.
The Weigel channels should have epg in TNAP images at some point, and probably a few ku channels scattered about. After that, put up directions on how to add epg channels, which I doubt few if any do. This TNAP image thingy is pretty much a one-way street. A few people help put it together, then it is downloaded and distributed to various places where it is Bitched and Griped about....All the way to Egypt at one point. If people would simply come here and talk about their issues, they may or may not be resolved. But downloading a copy and running to your little corner of the Internet and bitching about it shore aint gonna help!
Now that I have explained things, here is what a future TNAP image should produce at minimum in FTA epg:
