I finally found a large Cband dish near me. The guy says it is 8 feet but I have a hunch it is probably 12 feet or at least 10. I will be out of town next week on vacation so I plan on picking it up in two weeks if all goes as planned. Does anyone know what kind of dish this is? He is also throwing in a couple of receivers for it so hopefully they are 4dtv units.

That dish looks to be at least a 10 ft. Unsure of the brand. Good find!

Is there some writing on the center.
It does not help much to know who made it because everybody has gone out of business. I think it looks good and it should do a good job for you!!! EB

Looks like a nice dish. Great find! I had a 10.5' Luxor back in the 80's that looked just like this dish, but used a button hook feed support.

If you could take a pic of the mount I might be able to tell. It kind of looks like a channel master and it has to be at least 10', awesome find Rob.

Ya I won't be able to get out there until monday after next. I could probably stop to check it out after work one day but its the opposite direction of my house from my work so I will probably wait until I have an extra day off. My prediction is 12 feet.

Well I just got back from taking the dish down and it appears to be a 10' Unimesh. It came with 3 receivers. An old Drake analog mover, an old Pansat 2300, and a DSR905 4dtv sidecar that I will sell. Had about 6 wasp nests inside the feedhorn cover. Luckily I did not get stung.

It had Unimesh written on the center but the sticker is missing and it was full of wasp nests!

I snoozed too long on the 12' Paraclipse down in MA, a member of another forum snagged it. In my jealous rage last night I began hunting for another BUD on Craigslist. A few minutes of searching brought me to a 10' dish in my own town for 50$! I called the guy this morning and he is the owner of a local parts store. I just picked it up a few minutes ago. It looks like a SAMI or Unimesh. I haven't got all of the pieces yet but I don't think I could have got much more lucky as the dish was disassembled. I just didn't have the time to go after the Paraclipse. :-)

The 50$ dish turned out to be a bust. The guy couldn't find the mount so he gave me my money back. I got to keep the mesh sections. I could possibly get the feedhorn supports but I may have to nag the guy. Here are some pictures. I would like to identify the brand so I can see about locating a mount for it.

I just picked up a nib ten foot orbitron dish with a dsr920 receiver with all the accessories for 100$. Probably going to store this dish for now.

It comes with a new Venture actuator and an Astrotel PM-93-C/KU feedhorn assembly. All new and unused. This setup came from Skyvision.

Later today I am going to pickup the AZbox with 10' Channel Master fiberglass dish for 200$. Bonuses for this deal are a Pansat 9200 and a few diseqc switches including an 8 into 1.

I finally got the rest of the pieces for the local 10' dish from the parts store owner. The feedhorn cover says Odom on it. I have everything but the mount. I found a free mount down in Ct that I will have to pickup soon. Unfortunately one of the dogs damaged the mesh in one section but its fixable.

'Tis the season for picking up large dishes. I just scored a Radio Shack 9' dish today with an HH actuator. The guy had it all disassembled in the basement. I have a line on a 7.5' Winegard next week that will require takedown.

Yeah, nice one Rob. Buds around my area are like finding a needle in a hay stack.

Well I just got back from getting the Winegard. I went up under the impression that it was a 7.5' dish. It turned out it was a heavier duty 10' dish and its different from my main dish. This dish has 8 segments. It was almost 3 stories up and it took a few hours of careful maneuvering to get it down. It has a buttonhook on it also. Luckily I didn't fall.

Great job Rob, not too many guys would tackle a job that high. Guess the home owner was very pleased too.

I found another 12' Paraclipse that I plan on taking down Tuesday. The cost is next to nothing and I may replace my Winegard with it.

I just got back from Bangor Me to see the dish. The owner was glad to hold it for me over the winter. It was an icy 7 hr drive to and fro but I made it back OK.

The Paraclipse always amazes me how well it can look like new over time.
